Rick Urban and Judy
Campbell-Urban offer a comprehensive range of services to address
any of their clients’ equestrian needs. They work together, pooling
their distinct but complementary talents and backgrounds, to provide
each horse and rider with the skills and the experience so that they
can achieve their goals. To this effort, Rick brings his innate
talent, his ability to formulate unconventional solutions to age-old
equestrian problems, and his calm and inspiring presence; while Judy
brings a deep education in the classical methods and systems of
equitation and a warm and caring relationship with her students.
Together, they have provided many students with knowledge and
success and a rich and enjoyable equestrian experience.
Judy and Rick have
practiced horsemanship together for 28 years, introducing countless
students and horses to
the fulfillment of classical equitation. Judy and Rick are “demystifyers”:
they translate the ancient and rarified concepts of classical
horsemanship into a straightforward system of practical principles
and exercises that give their students confidence and mastery, and
their horses joy in work and movement. Above all, Judy and Rick are
genuine. They strive for art rather than artifice, for the genuine
rather than the counterfeit. They produce riders and horses that are
deep in their art, that progress from the ageless fundamentals, and
who win. To further compliment the C-U training program for both
themselves and their students, Judy and Rick are certified Bikram
